The teeth of the Diana Monkey are similar to those of most monkeys: there are two incisors (front teeth), one canine (fang), two premolars (cheek teeth) and three molars (back teeth). Which one is missing in this monkey?
The canines are large in the males which fight each other and defend the troop against predators.
The Diana Monkey is found in the rain forests of west Africa. It gets its name from the Ancient Roman Goddess of hunting, because it has white eyebrows which look a bit like an ancient hunting bow.
Diana Monkeys live in the trees and eat a variety of fruit, leaves and shoots. They live in groups of around 50 individuals which move through the forest taking advantage of the seasonal abundance of different kinds of food.
