Meteorites

Learn about meteorites formed 4.6 billion years ago and compare the Canyon Diablo meteorite, which hurtled through space to land in Arizona USA, with the Appley Bridge meteorite, which produced a luminous flight path and caused several detonations when it landed at Halliwell Farm at Wigan in Lancashire at 08:45 on 13th October 1914. You can even find out about the rare Martian meteorites which are thought to have been ejected into space when Mars was hit by asteroids.
